Care
The garments can usually be washed in the washing machine. Wash similar colors together. Avoid fabric softener. It's best to wash in cold water (30 degrees Celsius) and hang to dry. Air drying is gentler on the garment and saves energy in the long run. To preserve the colors, dry the clothes in the shade.
As a general rule: Always follow the instructions on the care label before washing.
Protective factors
The Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) is a measure of how well a fabric protects against ultraviolet radiation. It is very similar to the SPF rating system for sunscreens. A garment with a UPF of 50+ allows only 1/50 of the UV radiation hitting its surface to pass through. In other words, it blocks 49/50, or 98%, of UV radiation. UPF 50+ is the highest possible rating for a fabric.
The Sun Protection Factor, also called sun protection factor, indicates how well a sunscreen protects against UVB rays.
This means that a sunscreen with SPF 30 protects the skin from sunburn about 30 times longer than no protection, provided the cream is applied correctly.
UVA rays cause a superficial tanning of the skin.
Skin. They penetrate as far as the dermis and cause premature aging. UVB rays, on the other hand, are more aggressive. They only penetrate as far as the epidermis and, with excessive exposure, can cause skin inflammation. Sunburn is the result.
The fabrics are tested according to the European standards EN13758-1 (with dry, unstretched material).
Generally speaking, the tighter the yarn is woven and the denser its construction, the better its protection. You can recognize this by the UPF 50+ label. The clothing is rigorously tested according to the European standard EN 13758-1. Fabric samples from each production batch are tested in independent laboratories.

skin cancer
There are two main types of skin cancer: non-melanoma skin cancer (also known as white skin cancer) and melanoma (black skin cancer). Cancer cells can spread throughout the body via the lymphatic and circulatory systems. They can then accumulate in specific locations such as organs or bones, a process known as metastasis or secondary cancer. While non-melanoma skin cancer is more common, it rarely metastasizes. In contrast, melanoma is less common but has a greater tendency to metastasize and is often diagnosed only at an advanced stage. Further information about these types of cancer can be found at the Swiss Cancer League.
